This spider was living in my carport. I had just moved to Port Huron, MI in July 2019 and had never seen a spider like this before.

Nice photo! She’s a Cross Orbweaver, Araneus diadematus. The “cross” in her name comes from the white markings on her abdomen that look like they were dribbled there with whiteout. The “orbweaver” part comes from the circles they weave in their webs that are the sticky parts of the web. Yours is doing her own thing with potato-shaped orbs. Her leg pairs I, II, and IV are quite long with an short pair III. That would be why her web is shaped to her outline. This species came to USA from Europe. It is a common species in England.
