Found these on my bananas from Aldi in Michigan. Any idea what they are?! Freaked out.

Just a bunch of spiderlings. That is super weird to find on a banana, but it’s not like they’re dangerous. Baby spiders are too small to harm humans, even if they are a dangerous species (these guys probably aren’t) they just aren’t big enough to hurt you. It looks like their egg sac was stuck to the banana and as such, they are probably native to wherever this banana was grown. Spiders stowaway on fruit shipment all the time (they are called “banana spiders” for this reason) but I’ve never heard of an egg sac doing so. These guys do… Read more »

Do the bananas have country of origin stickers? I can’t see the individuals well, they do look like hatchling spiders. Aldi might have only one supplier. Honestly, I’m a bit jealous, I never get the Foreign Spider Surprise with my produce. ;( They probably can’t survive in Michigan, your state isn’t known for its tropical climate. Any local schools want some classroom pet spiders? The upside of the abundance of spiders on grocery store produce is the reason it is becoming more common.
