Red dots on back and red hourglass on belly. Not the normal widow I’ve seen.

She looks like Latrodectus mactans. You also have L. variolus in North Carolina. A way to tell them apart is the second spot from the head. If it is longer than wide (roughly) it is more likely to be L.mactans. Black Widow appearance also varies by gender and age. The base color and reddish markings get darker and the white fades.
