Comments & ID Thoughts
After looking at pictures I believe this is Callobius severus. It also has a strong resemblance to Scotophaeus blackwalli (mouse spider) but the abdomen does not look the same. I found this spider last night (5/14/18) on the wall in my kitchen. I placed it outside safely after photographing it. The spider was the size of a guitar pick (have a photo of that too).

Hi, tentatively I agree with Callobius serverus. There are Callobius spp. out west I’m not yet familiar with though. I associate ones that are especially red with severus. Welcome to Spider ID. 🙂
