She’s lovely! This one is kinda easy… Hawaiian Garden Spider! Argioppe apensa. An interesting bit of biology shown well in your photo – the web is in two different colors. The circle and spokes orb web is gold. The color is a product of the biochemistry of the spider’s diet. The zigzags are called stabilimenta. The singular of the word is stabilimentum. They are made with different silk that is released in a different way through the spigots on the spinnets. The number and arrangement of the spinnerets and their spigots varies by species. That is fascinating about the silk colors !!I just like learning about all the different species and of course taking photos. I’m new here. I love how all the information is so organized. How you present the information on each species and how many times sighted even the most popular months it is really informative and I love that. I do have a question though. When do you change the “unidentified caption” ?
