I’m thinking this to be an orb weaver. Google lens suggested an arrow head spider. I’m not sure. It was busy spinning a web on the hiking pathway I was using.

I think it is an arrowhead orb weaver…Verrucosa arenata….they are apparently one of the only large orb weavers that rest on its web head up.
That’s interesting Nod. I’m surprised Google Lens had the best answer, it’s a tricky specimen.
Its such a pretty spider.
