Hi, are you sure of the ID on this one or is it speculation? I’m not familiar with this species. Does it vary a lot in caves? I made a page for it but see that looks significantly different from other examples online.
Well not 100% but I compared with other specimens identified as A. canariensis and it was the same. And I have been told the eyes and the pigmentation are variable because this species can be found inside and outside of caves. Which species would you suggest? I have not found anything else more simliar
I’m not familiar with the species and haven’t had time to read up on it so I don’t have any suggestions. I know some species that have a portion of the population dwelling in caves can vary wildly in appearance and wanted to be sure that was intended to be the case here before filing. It’s very interesting to see. 🙂
I saw one of these 6th April 2024 in benidorm (spain) it was lurking on the bath in my apartment I picked it up and put it outside
