This spider created a fairly thick webbing around it and deposited several dense web sacks, presumably egg-laden, around its territory.

This little gal (guy?) was sitting on my water heater, next to the toilet. Plenty of little flies (it’s a composting toilet) and dark corners to make a home.
Hi, this is a Funnel Weaver/Grass Spider (Agelenidae). There are several similar genera in CA.
