Gasteracantha cancriformis, Spiny-backed Orbweaver, ventral view, in web in Millcreek Park. Different individual than my other photos of this species. The white ones look like little spiky gray nodules of debris from their ventral sides. The webs are big, but difficult to see in the dim light of a forest.

Gorgeous spiders. I read they only live 3-4 months. 🙁
