Hi, and welcome to the site. this spider is a male huntsman spider,Sparassidae family, Heteropoda venatoria species.

In spite of their size, these are not a medically significant spider, I welcome them.
RI seems rather north of their range, that extends east Texas through the gulf states, Florida north to north Carolina. Perhaps a hitchhiker if anyone ha been south.
Hi, was this found in Rhode Island or is that just where you are located? Location needs to be where the spider was found.
