Hi, Could be mistaken but I see more male orb weaver (Araneidae) in this. Just not certain what genus.
I agree with the possiblity. His gorgeous whatever he is!
He plays dead very well.
Some spiders will play dead if they are overwhelmed, playing with false widows, they tend to play dead or web off hands, makes for an odd yo yo. For all the orb weavers,they are seemingly docile, content to just crawl on hands. Still trying to come up with at lest a genus for you,perhaps another member will recognize this.

This one has the wrong title though it is correctly filed to E. anastera in the photos.
