Comments & ID Thoughts

This little a**hole was crawling up my arm while I was laying on my bed watching Netflix. He made it most of the way to my wrist before I realized what was happening and I flung my phone across the room accidentally. He’s outside now but I’d like to know what kind he is. Any thoughts?

Hi.yourlittle friend is a ground spider, gnaphosidae family. One of the parson spiders, your location, this would be eastern parson spider, Herpyllus ecclesiasticus species.
These are not going to bite just crawling on you, Panic and smack them, they can give a good sting if they bite, not medically significant.
