Comments & ID Thoughts

My husband thinks this is a wolf spider but ever picture I look at doesn't look like this spider. It's all brown with black sides with a brown stripe. Really fast spider. All spiders scare me, just want to make sure my kids and cat will be safe.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 Your husband is right, this looks like a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae) in the genus Schizocosa. Like most spiders they have venom but are unlikely to bite except in self defense and are not considered to be of medical significance, everyone’s immune system is different though.
