Picture of Phidippus - Eyes

Comments & ID Thoughts

No idea what this is, he appears to have some sort of cool green coloring in his mouth. Picture take with phone all the way zoomed in in the backyard at a friend's house, in a relatively young (about a decade old) residential development. Climate around here is desert steppe and some irrigated farms outside the residential areas. He looks large in the photo, but was really about the size of a US dime.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This is a Jumping Spider (Salticidae) in the genus Phidippus, likely a Bold Jumper P. audax.
