I was told this is a wood spider but I’m not so sure. They are about an inch to inch and a half in size. Hide in cracks in the basement. Don’t have much of a web. Dark brown with a lighter pattern on their abdomen

Hi. Sorry I have problems with detail on my machine, but this looks a bit like a hacklemesh weaver, Amorbiidae family. Might even be a funnel weaver house spider.
I see male though, hard to tell when they hunker down with their legs over them.
Worth having around for pest control, not a spider of any threat.
