Comments & ID Thoughts

Keep finding these in my house. I know the picture is a little blurry but I was trying to zoom in on the shape.

Hi. your arachnid is not a true spider. This is a harvestman in the order Opiliones.
Totally harmless, they don’t bite or produce venom or web. You can identify these by their single segmented body, often very long legs.
These may be nesting very near your house if not on it and some straying indoors.
Exclusionary measures are best for keeping such critters from your living space.
I had a giant Opilione that lived in my Texas kitchen, the largest arachnid (legspan) I ever saw, 8 inches across the legs.
