Comments & ID Thoughts

I’ve never seen a spider like this. He is located at my cabin in the north Georgia mountains. Large web at least 3’ x 4’ reaching from porch ceiling to rail & post. It will stay up at the ceiling during the day only coming down to quickly spin an insect. Long spindly legs when he traveled the web up and down. I’ve enjoyed watching it.

Beautiful find!!! It obviously is a Aranaedae. I’m not sure on genus or species, but this is beautiful!! I’ve found many small ones with the same 3 segment skyscraper looking thing on its back just like yours

TangledWeb

She’s a Giant Lichen Orbweaver, Araneus bicentenarius. I just saw my first one recently. She was really cool, moved very quickly and confidently. Gotta love a giant green spider!
