Comments & ID Thoughts

Can someone confirm that this is a Giant Lichen Orb-weaver? That's my best guess.

You are quite correct, Araneus bicentenarius. See https://spiderid.com/spider/araneidae/araneus/bicentenarius/ for comparison images.

Hi, I’m really curious about the recent deformed Dysdera crocata from Minnesota. I don’t know how to put a link to it. It has odd appendages. A left pedipalp/ leg? and what looks like the posterior of the dorsum attached laterally with legs and spinnerets on it. It should be near the top in Discussions. I’m hoping you might know about arachnid deformities by chance. It interests me because I’m disabled from a ruptured arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in my brain.
