Argiope aurantia
(Black and Yellow Garden Spider)

This is a Black and Yellow Garden Spider, Argiope aurantia. She’s good. The only spiders in the US with medically significant venom are: Brown Recluses, Brown Widows, and Black Widows. Not many. This gal has venom for swiftly killing the bugs she eats. I’ve tried holding a Garden Spider and all it wanted to do was get away from me as quickly as possible.
