Now I’m pretty sure this is a Noble false window… but it’s uncommon for them to be this far north in the UK so any people out there that know better than me… let me know.
Its web is quite disorganised and more like tangled Matt rather than a traditional circular cross structured web.
It’s about 3ft off the floor living in my window frame.

Oooh, I was just recently mentioning that I think that False Widows can kill Pill Bugs and you provided a photo of one eating an isopod. False Widows are also called Cob Web Spiders and Tangle Web Spiders. The type of circular web that you mentioned is an Orb Web. Spiders like yours have an interesting trick in their webs. Yeah, it eats all sorts that thing.
There are carcasses of a lot of woodlice (that’s what the brits call em :”) )
It has a crane fly in there too but mostly wood lice. Seems to be its favourite meal!
How do I identify its gender? Out of interest?
