Dolomedes scriptus. https://bugguide.net/node/view/38828 It wasn’t in our spiders of New Jersey because this will be our first filed photo of D. scriptus for NJ. It has thin white markings (script). It has a web and a thin abdomen. This is probably a female that made a nursery web for her hatching egg sac. The offspring should be on the other side of the beams that she is shielding with her body. She’ll guard them until they are ready to hunt.
Yes the Egg sac is next to the spider I did not include it in this image but the eggs have no hatched and I will post one including the spider and the eggs.
