After being very startled seeing this massive spider in the boat with us, I did a little research and think I came to a conclusion. Dark Fishing spider I believe. I found it in our john boat and was easily 4" across. This is the second time I've ever seen a spider this big in the wild. This was found in Black River Bay Ny on the eastern shores of Lake Ontario.
