I am sure this is not a recluse. It is far too shiny. I am pretty sure it is a wood louse hunter. They are harmless to humans. https://bugguide.net/node/view/361424/bgpage

Doc Oc, it looks weird because it’s in its defensive posture, which is especially weird for this species. It’s trying to pull its 8 shiny legs up and over its body. It’s in your cellar to hunt woodlice, the flat oval dark grey bugs that are found on wet old wood.
