Western Spotted Orb Weaver - Neoscona Oaxacenis. Usually perched in the center of its orb shaped web except when it is hot and direct sunlight is on the web. Several are in my garden and typically catch honeybees as their main prey. Shown here tucked up against a cool shaded prickly pear cactus pad adjacent to its web.
