Found spider inside house in Upstate NY area. We are currently under record breaking cold weather and are known for record snow during the winter months. We usually have common house spider's here and it's not common to see a spider out and about in January.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 I’m in NJ and also enjoying today’s weather … haha. You have an Eastern Parson Spider (Herpyllus ecclesiasticus). I occasionally find them in my home too. If I have a container handy I typically catch and release them outside. You can catch live spiders by placing a container over them and gently sliding a stiff piece of paper underneath.
