Comments & ID Thoughts

My husband found this spider while raking leaves this fall. We have been in Central IL for almost 50 years and have never seen one like this. Anyone know what it is called?

She looks like a Marbled orb weaver, that has laid her egg egg sac,the abdomen is usually round and they are mostly found in their web. They are not a medically significant spider. All Orb weavers are great for pesky insect control.

I agree with the ID given above, filed. 🙂
