Was found near the top of a window sill. The soocher down its abdomen makes me think it is the giant crab spider.
Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 Yes, this looks like one of the Giant Crab Spiders (Sparassidae) … do you happen to have another shot that shows more of the spider’s face? I can differentiate between two similar genera in your region by the color of their chelicerae … Olios giganteus has black chelicerae and species in the genus Curicaberis have lighter colored chelicerae. I think Olios giganteus is the more common and likely of the two, but they both have that sutured pattern on the abdomen.
No I’m sorry. My sister was so freaked out she and her family vacuumed it up right after taking that picture. It was in the bedroom in the upper corner of their window sill. Nobody slept well last night. LOL. Thank you for your quick identification 🙂
