Any idea what this huge thing is? Legs span 7 to 10 inches long. Very ugly. Thanks

first of all: my guess is a fishing spider of some kind, maybe a Dolomedes tenebrosus? second of all: don’t be so rude!! this spider is lovely

Hi, it doe look Dolomedes, for your fear, these may seem huge, largest I have seen are just short of 4 inches across the legs, There is a larger species(giant swamp spider) gets 6 inches)
I find them attractive. they are harmless but their speed makes them a challenge to catch.
