Comments & ID Thoughts

This specimen was found in the kitchen cupboard where we keep our plates and bowls. The cupboard is a below worktop unit. Approx 15mm from tip of abdomen to tip of head and 26mm on spread of legs (front to back). After trawling the internet we wondered if this was a Black Lace Weaver spider (Amaurobius ferox).

Looks very similar to a Dysdera crocata (Woodlouse Hunter) though I’ve never seen a brown one, here in upstate New York, I’ve come across red/orange colored spiders whom look very similar. Hope this helps even though it’s not an answer.
