I guess we’re Looking at a Dysdera crocata (Woodlouse Hunter); at least the specimen I found on this site look rather similar… any thoughts on it?
There’s a few options in the genus listed for Switzerland. They’re too similar for me to say which exact one it is. Genus looks right though.
This has got to be a Dysdera Insulana, yes? Those darn little dimples!
Hi there!
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for your hint.
From what I could find on the weg D. crocata and D. insulana both have those dimples… what makes you lean towards D. insulana rather than D. crocata?
I haven’t seen them on D. crocata. Dysdera spp. are easy in the USA and other countries that only have one species in the genus. Welcome to the site!
