we found this guy in our bed, hes shiny black except for his underbelly.
It’s one of the False Widows, probably genus Steatoda. I live in Nashua and have some that look the same ventral and are totally black dorsal. I’m not sure what they are. They are afraid of light and run from my flashlight and camera flash. That has made getting photos for identification very difficult. Your ventral photo is excellent!
