Comments & ID Thoughts
At first I thought it might be a false widow but now I'm sure it isn't. It has longer legs at the front and back, shorter in between. There are a few yellow markings on the abdomen. It is very thin and has two tiny eyes closely spaced at the front of it's head. The body is shiny, not hairy. It has two large fangs, no visible palps.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 Your first instinct was right. It just looks odd because it’s a male. This looks like a False Katipo Spider, Steatoda capensis.
