Comments & ID Thoughts

Hello. Does anyone have any information on this one? I’m curious more than anything else. Most spiders we see are relatively smaller but this one was larger, maybe 4” or so. It wasn’t aggressive or photo shy and didn’t seem to mind the dog’s curiosity but I can’t offer much more than that. Any info you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This is a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae), Hogna lenta or something close to it. Florida has a few similar looking species.
