I'm hoping it is a southern house spider but I fear it's a recluse. Found outside on our covered porch tonight, up high and there were many more too. Thought it was dead when we put it in a jar, checked on it 30min later, completely alive. We did loose one of its legs in the kill

Hi, welcome to SpiderID … you’re right with Southern House Spider (Kukulcania hibernalis). It doesn’t look like a Recluse (Loxosceles sp,).
Looks like a brown widow. Very common on Tybee Island. Egg sacs are small, off-white, and spikey. Black widow has similar egg sacs except smooth rather than spikey. I’ve captured many of them on Tybee in order to observe and identify them. I now use a lighter to eliminate the egg sacs when I come across them. Spring is the time a lot of egg sacs start showing up under chairs and in undisturbed areas around homes.
