Looking up on the web, my guess would be that this is Phidippus audax, a bold jumper spider. Would the orange spot on the abdomen be indicative of a younger spider? Judging by the size, I would guess that this is a female.
Any thoughts?
Yes, this is a bold jumping spider. I don’t know the gender, someone else might. The heart shaped mark varies in color, I don’t know if it signifies anything.
Yes, the ones with orange spots are usually immature. 🙂
Thank! Do the marks change to other colors or white as they mature?
Typically they turn white as they mature.
