I just moved to France from the US and found this spider on the wall in the morning, just sitting there not moving. Length including legs around 10-15 mm.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 The spider appears to be a Mediterranean Recluse (Loxosceles rufescens), a relative of the Brown Recluse you’re probably already familiar with. Although bites and serious reactions are uncommon, species in this genus are considered medically significant so be careful when removing them.
