Hi. Best I can make from this is one of the funnel weavers in the Ageleidae family. Quite harmless. The family includes grass spiders, house spiders,hobo spiders and such.
The venter like this usually needs a very clear photo to see identification features. good resolution, just lacks detail.
Hi. about all you can do until the site is upgraded is to log off and back on, then submit another photo. note in the post it is a second image.
TangledWeb in another thread suggested making a colage of images and upload a few. the original images maintain their resolution, so no loss in quality. Any decent photo of the top should show enough to peg this. I know it is not Eratigena, hobo and giant house spiders, why location is important. doesn’t look grass spider, the family name refers to agriculture meaning grass or field.

False Wolf Spider/Zoropsidae, there are several genera in the family in CA that look similar to this.
