Comments & ID Thoughts
I hope someone can tell me what kind of spider this is. It’s about the size of my thumbnail. It was in my house in Rhode Island.

Bold Jumper, Phidippus audax. 🙂
Thank you – does it bite? Is it dangerous?
No, it isn’t dangerous. They’re actually popular pets because they’re cute and playful. They like to chase things like computer cursors and laser pointers. It can bite in self-defense if it is handled too roughly. Spiders’ bodies are very sensitive to pressure. The bite isn’t any worse than an ant or hornet sting.
