No guess, body is shaped like a black widow. Very big, this pic is in a jelly jar. Came out from under my toolshed which is elevated about 1 foot above dirt. His belly is black with 2 thin yellow parallel stripes (like the number eleven) from head to butt.

Is it poisonous?
No spider is poisonous but most are venomous. These do produce venom but not medically significant. IF you were to provoke a bite frome any of the orb weavers, it would be no worse than a bee sting.
You really have nothing to worry about unless you are allergic to bees, ants, etc..
Thank you for all the info. I put it back where i found it, he (i think SHE) survived overnight in the jar. I even do that in the house, i drop them out the window instead of killing them because I know spiders are generally helpful, but that one was just so BIG and scary looking, like a black widow.
